The misconduct module will suggest the applicable procedure that the user should follow, which is based on the company’s own disciplinary code taking into account progressive discipline and related offences of the employee. The user can however consider the particular case circumstances and select an alternate procedure that they will follow. The selected procedure may be different to the suggested procedure.

If the Selected Procedure displayed is correct, click on the “Save” button.  If the Procedure that the user wishes to follow is different to the suggested Procedure, the User will select an alternate Procedure from the dropdown list.  Enter the Reason for Variance and save.

If the procedure has been changed and the logged on user does not have any further responsibilities relating to the changed procedure the system will automatically display a section called “user for changed procedure.” Select the applicable user from the list and press “save”. The case will thereafter be removed from the logged on users’ worklist and will be available in the re-routed user’s Worklist to proceed with the first stage of the alternate procedure selected.

If the procedure has not been changed and the logged on user has further functions to carry out for the case, the next function will automatically be made available to the user.

If the procedure has not been changed but the logged on user has no further function to carry out, the function will be marked as complete and the case will no longer be visible under “Worklist”.

At a point in the process the outcome of the misconduct process will have to be entered and at that time documentation can be generated to serve on the employee relating to that outcome.
